MISSION CHALLENGES, INHIBITING OR MOTIVATING FACTORS?
Abstract
Returning to our theme, “mission challenges, inhibiting or motivating factors? ?” are these challenges an obstacle to Gospel work or are they an opportunity for the Gospel to be more widely proclaimed? Generally speaking, these challenges are both an obstacle and an opportunity. The internal challenges from within the church are mostly obstacles. We are hindering the Gospel from going forth. Primarily, the church’s lack of Gospel impact is not because of outside forces opposing the Gospel, but because of a lack serious focus on their own internal challenges. However, all of these obstacles can be solved. It is within our own control to address and overcome these challenges. The external challenges confronting the church are mostly opportunities. These challenges will force the church to love this world less and love Christ more. Suffering purifies the church and drives them to God in greater dependency. And when that happens, the church grows.
