Abstract

There is a trend of change in all areas of life, however, the principle of shepherding remains unchanged. The principle of shepherding that comes from God the Shepherd has not changed, and to this day God's shepherding is still there. God still shepherds His people and God uses His chosen people to be His servants. By using a biblical study approach (exposition) and paying attention to metaphorical language and exposing the text of Psalm 23 with the theme of Call and Devotion as a Shepherd. With God's shepherding model, we find in life there is a guarantee of certainty and blessing. In the narrative of John 21 God calls His servant to do a special task. In every generation, God calls different people in different situations, but they are called essentially to the same purpose. The main call of a shepherd is to save and shepherd God's people so that they grow and become mature, so that then they will be able to represent God in this world to save humanity holistically. The principles of shepherding, vocation and dedication as pastors are applied in the Indonesian Love of Christ Church (ILCC). ILCC is a missionary evangelical church that served in Indonesia for 36 years in shepherding and completed its mission by implementing the 5 M strategy of winning, fostering, sending, planting and shepherding and a continuous cycle (continuity).
